Continental Philosophy

Research Strength

Our course offerings in Continental Philosophy cover the variety of approaches developed during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in continental Europe. These approaches include phenomenology, existentialism, hermeneutics, critical theory, structuralism, post-structuralism, and deconstruction, and the issues taken up cover the spectrum of philosophy. Among the philosophers covered in depth are Marx, Nietzsche, Husserl, Heidegger, Gadamer, Sartre, Derrida, Foucault, Levinas, Habermas, and Lyotard.
