On September 27, Dr. Lucas Angioni (UNICAMP) will give a talk entitled "Full responsiveness to the targeted explanandum (or what unifies Aristotle's Posterior Analytics)". A reception will follow in the Crown Center Third Floor lobby.
On November 8, Marissa Venturi (LUC) will give a talk entitled "Quantification, Due Measure, and The Craftsmanly: Teasing out the Unity of the Four Kinds in Plato's Philebus".

The Philosophy Department is thrilled to announce that Dr. Joshua Mendelsohn's paper, entitled "Aristotle's Argument for the Necessity of What We Understand" (Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy), has been named one of the ten best articles published in philosophy in 2023 by Philosopher's Annual. Congratulations, Dr. Mendelsohn! The paper will be included in volume 43 of the journal, which will be published online soon.
Medieval Theories of Consciousness Conference
Medieval scholastic philosophers at the universities of Paris and Oxford from 1200 to 1350 engaged in complex discussions of the nature of conscious experience. This conference aims to connect these insights and arguments from medieval texts to current philosophical discussions on consciousness.
