Ch 31: Veteran Readiness & Employment

Veterans with a service connected disability and an employment handicap may be eligible to use educational benefits under the Veteran Readiness and Employment program, Chapter 31.

Eligibility requirements include a discharge other than dishonorable, a service-connected disability rating of at least 10% or a memorandum rating of 20% or more from the VA.  Applicants must also be evaluated by a VA Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. If accepted, students will then be assigned a designated counselor who will be in contact with the school to ensure all required tools are available and accessible.

Additional services provided by VR&E include job-seeking skills, resume building, on the job training and apprenticeships, financial assistance for college, and independent living services for veterans who are too disabled to work.

Please visit the VA’s website for more information about the Chapter 31 (VR&E) program.
