About
Dr. Margaret Delaney joined Loyola University in 2019. Receiving her BSN from Loyola University Chicago, and a Masters in Science, with the focus: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from DePaul University. Dr. Delaney completed her Doctorate of Education in Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University. Her research interest and publications center on nursing student success, student retention, adult learning principles, and health promotion. Her higher education teaching experience includes both face-to-face and online learning environments. Course specialties are Population-Based Health, Community Health, Nursing Ethics, Nursing Leadership, Health Assessment, Family Health, Pediatrics, and Graduate-level Practicum.
For the vast majority of her practice, Dr. Delaney was employed at a large, free-standing children’s hospital Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She worked in general pediatrics, and the ICU as a staff nurse. Dr. Delaney served as a Clinical Educator and Clinical Research Coordinator where she oversaw unit and institutional education initiatives as well as multiple clinical research studies. After graduate school assumed the role of pediatric nurse practitioner caring for the pulmonary/asthma and allergy population.
Dr. Delaney maintains certification as a pediatric nurse practitioner. She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau, a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Nurses Association.
