About Farrell Professorship
Carolyn Farrell, BVM, Professorship in Women and Leadership
The Carolyn Farrell, BVM, Professorship in Women and Leadership was established in 2006 by Loyola's President and CEO Michael J. Garanzini, SJ, in honor of Sister Carolyn Farrell, BVM, the former president of Mundelein College who founded the Ann Ida Gannon, BVM, Center for Women and Leadership in 1993. The professorship enhances the mission of the Gannon Center “to educate and foster women leaders to contribute in the development of a more just social order.” As a concrete symbol of Loyola’s commitment to women’s leadership and its honoring the heritage of Mundelein College, this professorship strengthens the Gannon Center as an academic unit of the University and provides leadership in scholarship and programming by and about women.
