This study embarks on the development of an all-encompassing workflow map tailored to meet the unique needs of transgender and gender nonconforming individuals seeking gender-affirming care. Commencing with an in-depth analysis of practices within LUHS, it gradually extends its scope to encompass a spectrum of healthcare settings, hopefully including Howard Brown and a variety of clinics, ranging from free to community-based. Initial investigations involve interviews with healthcare professionals at LUHS to illuminate current care practices and identify potential areas for improvement. The research delves into multifaceted inquiries, addressing specific medical requisites, the profound impact of healthcare provider attitudes on care quality, barriers to access, utilization patterns, financial considerations, and the intricate intersections with race and ethnicity. Through meticulous examination, this study aims to underscore the pivotal role of compassionate care teamwork in augmenting patient outcomes and advocates ardently for the adoption of more inclusive healthcare practices. By shedding light on the complexities of gender-affirming care, this research endeavors to foster an environment that prioritizes inclusivity, equity, and ultimately, the well-being of all individuals seeking gender-affirming services. It aspires to contribute to the broader discourse on gender-affirming care, driving forward positive changes in healthcare delivery for marginalized communities.
