Our work on the Children's Memory Study focuses on the development of memory over the preschool and early school years years, and the important role of parent-child conversational interactions the development of skills remembering. Some work involves providing parents with information about conversational techniques (such as asking Why, How, and What questions) that can help children understand and remember their experiences. Other work focuses on styles of conversation that are most effective in fostering understanding and and help children remember what they have learned and apply it to new situations.
