Theology of Healing Earth in Action
Welcome to the Theology of Healing Earth in Action (THEA) Institute, an innovative program at Loyola University Chicago dedicated to environmental sustainability, faith, and theology.
The THEA Summer Institute, our original flagship program, offers high school students the opportunity to learn about environmental justice and grow in their spirituality while spending a week living on one of the greenest campuses in the nation.
Summer Institute students live on campus and learn from expert theologians and scientists, including the founding dean of Loyola's School of Environmental Sustainability. The program seeks to promote leadership and cultivate a new generation of pioneers who will lead integrated lives of faith and justice and will empower them to respond to contemporary social challenges. The Summer Institute offers a holistic and diverse experience which invites students to discover and discern their gifts and vocation while fostering Ignatian values of love for others, creativity, and prayer.
