Engage with Empathy

Engage with Empathy: Introduction

The Division of Student Development (DSD) is pleased to announce, Engage with Empathy, a movement designed to continue to promote respectful conversations and a culture of connection for Loyola students.

The week of September 9 2024, this initiative will launch with events focusing on respectful campus discourse and community connection. This movement will continue throughout the academic year.

Here are upcoming ways you can get involved in November 2024:

Learn how to engage with empathy at these CDI events:

  • Virtual Post-Election Discussion hosted by the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

In the spirit of caring for the whole person, the Office of Institutional Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion would like to invite you to join us for a virtual post-election discussion where staff members can share their thoughts, concerns, hopes, and needs. We’ve intentionally scheduled this event on November 22 to allow time to digest the outcome and approach the discussion from a place of reflection.

Our program is designed to help us explore the range of emotions we’re feeling as staff and community members, while also discussing what this moment means for us moving forward. It will be a space where you can share your thoughts, concerns, and hopes, and include a discussion of how we can collectively navigate this moment in a way that fosters healing and mutual support.

We encourage you to amplify this within your communities—let's work together to build an even more inclusive Loyola.
