Prerequisite: Available to third and fourth year students.
Special Note: All interested students are required to write a letter of intent, stating their interest in the elective (and their interest in Loyola, for visiting students). This will be reviewed by the Elective Director. After review of letter by the Elective Director, students will be notified of approval/denial of rotation. Loyola students, please email letter to department contact listed. Visiting students, please upload your letter to your VSLO supplemental documents.
Description: This elective consists of inpatient and outpatient experience in pediatric nephrology and pediatric urology. Students will be exposed to a wide range of nephrologic problems. They will also be involved in the theory and management of fluid electrolytes and acid-base disorders.
Method of Evaluation: Students' grades will be based on their presentations, consultation (in-depth study of individual patient) and response on rounds.
