Special Note: |
This elective has been redesigned from prior years and is intended for M4 students who will be going into Internal Medicine, Combined Med/Peds, Family Medicine, or Emergency Medicine residencies. Students applying to other residencies will need to obtain special permission from Dr. Laura Ozark prior to being approved to enroll in this elective. On the first day of the rotation, report to Dr. Green in the Tower, room 1838D at 11:00 am (around the corner from Jazzman’s). |
Description: |
The student in the graphics laboratory will be offered an intense experience in ECG and complex arrhythmia analysis. The student will be expected to read appropriate electrocardiographic textbooks (Marriott, Chou), participate actively on "reading-rounds,” and to complete the ECG homework packet. The student's goal is become much more proficient in ECG interpretation. Recommended reading: “The Only EKG Book You’ll Ever Need,” by Malcolm S. Thaler, published by Wolters Kluwer Health. |
Method of Evaluation: |
Evaluation is based on interview/conference with student at close of elective. An objective test may be required at the discretion of the supervising attending. This course is graded Pass/Fail. |
