Description: |
The student will evaluate patients with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical issues and be prepared to diagnose and manage common medical issues in the family medicine setting. The majority of patient care will take place in the outpatient setting at the Family Practice Center, and may include some inpatient rounding. SITE: West Suburban Hospital Salud Family Health Center |
Method of Evaluation: | Satisfactory completion of the elective will depend on meeting these conditions: 1. A satisfactory evaluation from the site instructor, using competency related goals and objectives. The site instructor will complete an evaluation based on knowledge, attitude, and competence. 2.A patient/clinical experience log. This can be done as a daily log or clinical diary. 3. A one-page double-spaced summary describing the elective experience. 4. Pass a 10-question final exam. |
