What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
I enjoy the work and the people. It’s a privilege to serve on a team dedicated to the success of adult students. Plus, I love being in Lewis Towers. With Hershey’s and Ghirardelli’s nearby, I’m never more than an elevator ride away from chocolate bliss.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
Building two raised flower beds with my colleagues at last summer’s Ignatian Service Day. Hauling 40-pound bags of soil and mulch for a day is something I will never forget. But the flowers looked great and I know we made a difference.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
It means treating others with respect, demonstrating a willingness to listen and help, and keeping ethics and honesty at the core of my actions.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
Knowing that there is a greater purpose to what I do and that I’m helping people.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride.
I wrap myself in a maroon Loyola blanket after a long day.
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
I started at Loyola as a student worker for Mundelein College, now the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Sister Jean has known me since before I was old enough to vote.
