About
Department: English Language Learning Program/Office for International Programs
Campus: Lake Shore Campus
Years at Loyola: 2
What is your favorite thing about working at Loyola?
The people. I love the people that I work with--the English Language Learning Program teachers, student workers, and Office for International Programs staff--because of their commitment to the University, program, and students. I also love our students because they are unique individuals and I usually end up learning something new about them or their cultures every day.
What is your most memorable achievement as a Loyola employee?
I don't think there is one memorable achievement. I've worked hard on the overall growth and development of the ESL program and I'm proud of what I've accomplished in the two years that I've been here.
What does Loyola's mission mean to you?
I believe that you should do what you can to help others and this is exemplified in the time that I spend with, and the patience that I show, each student or parent when they come to speak with me about a minor question or major issue.
What motivates you to succeed each and every day?
I love what I do. Living in a foreign country can be very difficult and there's nothing more rewarding then helping students help themselves, whether it's being successful academically, tackling personal problems, or interacting with others in a positive manner.
Tell us how you show your Rambler pride.
By getting our international students more involved in on-campus events and within the Loyola community; I want them to feel a part of the Loyola community and take pride in that.
Tell us something most people at Loyola would be surprised to know about you.
I was a dance teacher in high school and have some killer 90s dance moves that I love to bust out at our ESL events.
