The Eleanor Fails Alumni Speaker Series

Th‌e Eleanor V. Fails Lecture Series is made possible through the generous contribution of Eleanor V. Fails (1930-2015). Dr. Fails earned her second MA and Ph.D. in Sociology at Loyola University Chicago in the 1960s. While at Loyola, she was a member of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross and was known as Sister Christopher Marie. Dr. Fails was a professor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh where she rose through the ranks to Chair of the Sociology Department. Her legacy funds an annual alumni speaker series, alumni panels and research and travel opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.
