MSW/JD

Offered jointly with the School of Law, this dual degree program fives clinical skills and a broader understanding of the human concerns in legal interventions to practicing lawyers. Students in this program gain a psychological and social perspective that comes into play when representing and advocating for children, families, women, and the elderly.

MSW/MJ in Child and Family Law

This program allows those seeking leadership positions in child and family welfare and advocacy to earn their MSW in tandem with their MJ degree. The MJ degree is offered 100% online, and both degrees can be earned in a total of three years for full-time students.

MSW/MDiv - Master of Divinity

This program recognizes that an individual’s beliefs, world views and values are key components in the healing and treatment process. This dual degree is offered jointly with the Institute of Pastoral Studies, McCormick Theological Seminary, and the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Catholic Theological Union.

MSW/MA in Social Justice

Recognizing that social work and social justice often inform one another and overlap in terms of content and philosophy, this dual degree program is ideal for those who see a role for themselves in an organization that serves individuals and communities as advocates for social change.

MSW/MA in Women’s Studies

This program allows for an emphasis on the feminist perspective, combining psycho-social and political-historical understandings of women and gender as it has impacted society. This dual degree program is offered jointly with The Graduate School.

MSW/Master of Public Health

This dual degree program provides a multidisciplinary education covering both a client-centered and a population-based health perspective to train those who will work to address the health and social needs of vulnerable populations.

PhD in Social Work

Established in 1986, this program extends the tradition of educating students skilled in clinical research, scholarship, and teaching with the Jesuit ideals of service to others and commitment to social justice as its foundation. The doctoral program prepares students for leadership roles in diverse practice and academic arenas.

Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling

This program prepares mental health professionals to become Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselors (CADC) in the state of Illinois. With this credential, you’ll be better equipped to serve clients with substance abuse issues.

Certificate in Empowering Women: South Asian Women & Girls

This program offers students an opportunity to obtain a completely online certification for working with women, focusing on South Asian women and girls, a population that is underserved and in high need.
