The first Bilingual Master of Social Work Program in the country, this program prepares students for Latino communities to have professional social workers with linguistic skills and cultural awareness of the more subtle aspects that individuals, families, groups, and communities face when receiving services. This program aims to strengthen the knowledge, values, and skills of those who feel passionate about working with vulnerable people and who are deprived of their rights in our society. Focuses include mental health and immigration studies.

Offered jointly with the School of Law, this dual degree program fives clinical skills and a broader understanding of the human concerns in legal interventions to practicing lawyers. Students in this program gain a psychological and social perspective that comes into play when representing and advocating for children, families, women, and the elderly.

MSW/MJ in Child and Family Law

This program allows those seeking leadership positions in child and family welfare and advocacy to earn their MSW in tandem with their MJ degree. The MJ degree is offered 100% online, and both degrees can be earned in a total of three years for full-time students.

MSW/MDiv - Master of Divinity

This program recognizes that an individual’s beliefs, world views and values are key components in the healing and treatment process. This dual degree is offered jointly with the Institute of Pastoral Studies, McCormick Theological Seminary, and the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Catholic Theological Union.

Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling

This program prepares mental health professionals to become Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselors (CADC) in the state of Illinois. With this credential, you’ll be better equipped to serve clients with substance abuse issues.

Certificate in Empowering Women: South Asian Women & Girls

This program offers students an opportunity to obtain a completely online certification for working with women, focusing on South Asian women and girls, a population that is underserved and in high need. Students will develop an awareness of the intersections of poverty, gender, politics, and culture, and be properly trained to practice global sensitivity while working with this specific population of women.

Illinois School Social Worker Endorsement (Professional Educator License)

This program is for those who have an MSW degree from an accredited school of social work and who are seeking a Professional Educator License with an endorsement in School Social Work. Students who complete this program will be eligible for their licensure as a School Social Worker in Illinois.

School Mental Health Advanced Practice Certificate

This post-master’s certificate program equips mental health professionals to better affect the positive psychosocial development of their student clients.
