About

Priscila Rodríguez Freire is a clinical social worker with a doctoral degree in clinical social work, licensed by the state of Illinois, and a certified domestic violence professional. She has worked with families, individuals, and children in a variety of settings, providing clinical services for over 15 years. As a clinical supervisor she managed the Family Violence Intervention Program; the Safe and Sober program, focusing on the intersection between substance abuse and domestic violence; and the Southside Teens About Respect, a teen dating violence prevention program. Another area of interest has been the work with Latino aggressors of domestic violence, a population with which she worked for over two years and wrote about on her dissertation. Currently in addition to being the director of the MSW Program, she teaches full-time at Loyola University Chicago, with courses on counseling multicultural populations, domestic violence, practice issues working with modalities such as individuals and families, issues in the work with women, group social work, and research methodology.
