Crime Alert: Armed Robbery Near W. Arthur Avenue

Loyola Community,

On Sunday, April 17, at approximately 10 p.m., a Loyola student was the victim of an armed robbery in the 1200 block of W. Arthur Avenue.

The victim, who was waiting outside of an apartment for a friend, reported that while waiting at the door, a male walking eastbound on Arthur walked up on the steps where he was standing. The offender then grabbed him by the collar and turned him around. The offender then pressed something into his back, implied that he had a knife, and said “give me your money.” The victim gave up his money, jacket, and cell phone and then the offender ran off in an unknown direction.

The offender is described as a male between the ages of 20 and 25. He is approximately 6’0” and was last seen wearing a black jacket and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
