The Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee (PHPAC) process supports students and alumni personally, academically, and professionally when applying to medical (allopathic/osteopathic) and dental school. The committee cycle extends from January 2025 (spring semester) through the following summer (2025).
To participate in the PHPAC, you must submit an application to the Career Services Pre-Medicine Career Community. The PHPAC application will open on Tuesday, October 15th and close on Friday, December 20th at 11:59am. There is a recommended priority deadline of December 6th for participants who would like access to committee resources and select assignments prior to winter break. Students and alumni who submit applications after the priority deadline will hear from Career Services in mid-January, 2025.
Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Commitment to taking the MCAT or DAT no later than April 30th, 2025
- Intention of submitting medical or dental school applications by no later than early June 2025
- Alumni must be within five years of graduation (May 2020 cutoff)
- If you have already participated in the PHPAC twice, you will need to submit an appeal in your application to start the program a third time. Appeals are considered on a case-by-case basis.
- If you have already participated in the PHPAC three times, you are no longer eligible to participate in the PHPAC
- Alumni-it is strongly recommended that you opt to keep your LUC email for life. This will help ensure your smooth access to our PHPAC Sakai site, which we will use to administer program resources and assignments. You can opt-into this at any time. Click here for instructions
Students who are enrolled in or have completed the Loyola MA in Medical Sciences (MAMS) or MS in Medical Physiology (MSMP) programs do not participate in the PHPAC. Support for these students is provided by MAMS and MSMP directly.
