Workshops, Trainings, and Requests
Workshops, Trainings, and Requests
The SRCR Team is available to support student groups, staff, and faculty by facilitating workshops, training sessions, and presentations for students by request.
Requests should be submitted a minimum of two weeks in advance (5 business days in advance for the "Don't Cancel That Class!" Initiative), and should generally be scheduled between 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. We will try to be flexible with requests outside of normal business hours.
We are offering workshops and training sessions both virtually via Zoom and in-person. Depending on the topic and desired learning outcomes, we may also be able to record a workshop or training for you.
Below is a list of the common requests we receive. To request one of these topics, or to discuss an alternative topic to best suit your current needs, please complete our Workshop and Training Request Form and a staff member will be in contact with you soon.
Conflict Management 101
In this session, you will learn the fundamentals of conflict management. This includes understanding personal conflict styles and exploring meaningful responses to conflict. As an introductory workshop, the key takeaway is for attendees to learn to use conventional tools and skills to apply in everyday life. Ideal length is 60-90 minutes.
Targeted Conflict Management
This workshop focuses on conflict management in specific environments. Have you had a conflict in the workplace, or want to learn more about how to apply conventional tools in a specific setting? Are you curious about conflict management in healthcare, the classroom, or in your club or organization? This session is ideal as a follow up to Conflict Management 101, as a way to fine-tune the skills and tools to your environment. Please specify the area of focus, and we can work with you to expand what you’ve learned in Conflict Management 101. Ideal length is 60-120 minutes.
Having Difficult Conversations
Restorative Justice Practices 101
Understanding Community Circles
This workshop will enable you to better understand and experience Circle practices. This session will allow participants to learn the origins of Community Circles, their structure, and to participate in a Community Circle tailored to their group’s needs and/or interests. If you are interested in receiving more Community Circle training, we can also have a brainstorming session for you to implement Community Circles in your spaces, and then have a reflection Circle after. Ideal length is 60-120 minutes.
