State and International Authorization
Programs seeking to offer online coursework to students residing in states and U.S. territories outside of Illinois are required to obtain proper state authorization. Loyola University Chicago is a member of the National Council for State Authorization and Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). NC-SARA allows most programs to operate outside of Illinois without directly seeking authorization from individual states. Some states do have restrictions on the kinds of online programs that can be offered from out-of-state institutions, so be sure to visit our NC-SARA page for current authorizations or use our request services form to reach out for more information. The Office of Online Learning also provides assistance to programs seeking international authorizations.
