Travel Registration for University-Affiliated International Activities

Individual Travel Registration

All employees and students traveling on a University-Affiliated International Activity must register their travel plans with the Office of Global and Community Engagement (OGCE) using the GoGlobal portal. University-Affiliated International Activities include (but are not limited to) independent study, research and fieldwork, business-related travel, professional membership meeting and conference attendance, and Loyola-affiliated travel for non-credit activities such as those related to student organizations or international travel for University athletics.

The international travel registration process asks you to answer some questionnaires related to your travel plans and upload travel documents. You will be prompted to self-enroll in the CISI travel insurance plan. This is a mandatory requirement for all travel related to University-Affiliated International Activities. Please complete the registration at least one month prior to your departure to allow ample processing time to OGCE.

The Travel Registration does not apply to the following forms of travel:

  • International travel for personal purposes (e.g., vacation or visiting friends or family)
  • Loyola students who travel abroad during a leave of absence from Loyola or who are not enrolled as Loyola students during the term they are traveling abroad
  • International travel for work outside of the scope of your employment at Loyola (e.g., private consultancy)

If you are traveling internationally as part of an organized program, your travel registration will occur as part of a group travel registration process, and you do not need to register your travel using the links below:

CISI Insurance

CISI insurance covers travelers under a variety of situations applicable to international travel that are rarely covered by standard insurance coverages, such as emergency medical care, transport, and evacuation. Please review the appropriate Loyola CISI brochure (listed below) for details on the relevant insurance plans. Participants will receive their insurance card and policy details at least one week prior to the start of their planned travel. Please monitor your inbox for a message from the email domain @culturalinsurance.com.

Once enrolled in the appropriate plan, please login to your myCISIportal where you can access important insurance documents and emergency contact information as well as purchase optional trip interruption coverage. Please review the myCISI Participant Portal Guide and the myCISI Traveler App Guide once you're enrolled in the insurance policy.

The costs for CISI insurance coverage should be included as a budgeted expense for the University-Affiliated International Activity, paid by the sponsoring academic unit/administrative office or the individual traveler. Should you wish to enroll a spouse/dependent in CISI, that cost may not be covered by the sponsoring academic unit/administrative office but can be added as supplemental insurance coverage at the expense of the individual traveler. Spouses/dependents of Loyola-affiliated travelers who are participating as part of an approved organized international program must register independently of the program.
