Captain Andrew J. Toaddy, Assistant Professor of Military Science

Captain Andrew J. Toaddy is from Lombard, Illinois. He graduated from Western Illinois University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. Upon graduating, he was commissioned through their ROTC program as a second lieutenant as an Armor officer.

Captain Toaddy's initial assignment was as a scout platoon leader and executive officer for 1-40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th BDE, 25th Infantry Division (Airborne), Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. During his time in Alaska, he deployed on a rotation to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel. He was next assigned as a plans officer and rifle company commander with 1-41 IN BN, 2SBCT (Stryker Brigade), 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

Captain Toaddy's training and education includes the Armor Basic Officer Leader Course, the Army Reconnaissance Course, Airborne School, Ranger School, the Maneuver Captains Career Course, Cavalry Leaders Course, and Combatives Level I. He also graduated with a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership from Columbus State University. 

Captain Toaddy's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (BSM), the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM), the Army Achievement Medal (2nd OLC), the National Defense Service Medal, The Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, the Ranger Tab, Expert Soldier Badge, Parachutist Badge, the Gold German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (GAFBMP), Silver Spurs, and Gold Spurs.
