How did you celebrate Pi Day?
It has become an annual ritual for geeks the world over...
π ≈ 3.14159,
so around 1:59pm every March 14th, we profess our love of this most famous of mathematical constants.
Here at Loyola University,
-
the Math Club hosted their annual dinner and lecture (with plenty of fruit- and pizza-pie, of course);
-
Prof. Laurie Jordan's course, students made bracelets by translating π into binary numbers and then the students made necklaces by coming up with their own patterns for the digits in π. One student used base six; one used a color scheme based on primes and composites, etc. [pics]
