Huffman, William

Professor Emeritus


Dr. Huffman received his B.S. from the University of New Mexico and his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology. Before coming to Loyola in 1978 he taught at Dartmouth College and Union College. Dr. Huffman's research interests include group theory, coding theory, and combinatorics. He served as chair of the department from 1986 through 1992 and is currently director of the Graduate Program in Mathematics. Dr. Huffman is also co-editor and co-author of the Handbook of Coding Theory recently published by Elsevier Science Publishers.
