Daniel W. Howe to Discuss His Latest Book and its Relationship to
LUMA’s Current Exhibition

What:

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Daniel W. Howe will visit the Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA) to discuss his newest book, What Hath God Wrought: The Transformation of America, 1815-1848, and relate the work to the museum’s current exhibition, Manifest Destiny/Manifest Responsibility: Environmentalism and the Art of the American Landscape.

During the era of Manifest Destiny, American artists addressed the divinity and design of nature, its millennial transformation, and the vista it opened up to national expansion.
