STATA

STATA is statistical application used primarily by researchers in the behavioral sciences, health sciences, and social sciences. LUC has a site license for STATA/SE - the standard edition of STATA - which is appropriate for mid-sized datasets. It allows analysis of datasets with up to 32,767 variables and up to 2.14 billion observations. Independent variables are limited to 10,998. STATA/BE - the basic edition of STATA for which LUC has an educational lab license - will be replaced by STATA/SE in LUC open access labs and on LUC faculty desktops for the Fall 2022 semester.

Option Availability
Personal Computer Installation via the LUC License STATA/SE is available to all faculty and students. Staff engaged in academic research also qualify for an install on a personal computer. Complete the ITS Service Desk STATA/SE Home Use Self-Service Request to request home use.
Remote Access - Apporto Currently Not Available
Remote Access - VPN Available via remote connection to LUC desktop.

Instructions for accessing and completing the ITS Service Desk's STATA/SE Home Use Self-Service Request (SSR)

  • Click on this STATA/SE Home Use link.
  • This will open the ITS Service Portal page.
  • Log in using your LUC uvid and password.
  • The STATA/SE Home Use Self-Service Request form will open.
  • Fill out the required fields in the Self-Service Request.
  • Submit the request.
