As a Student
IRJ works to advance racial justice through research, programming, and partnerships. We know that sustainable change involves preparing the next generation of scholars to lead, which is why we are committed to involving Loyola University Chicago students in every facet of our work.
Regardless of career aspiration or undergraduate or graduate student status, there's a place for you to get involved with the vital work of IRJ.
Work with A Mentor
Our staff and faculty affiliates are conducting change-making research, and you can have the opportunity to learn from them and alongside them.
Please fill out our mentor request form to be paired with a faculty mentor and gain racial justice research experience.
Plan an IRJ Event
We hold many of events throughout the year — lectures, webinars, conferences, and more.
Please fill out this form if you would like to help plan future IRJ events.
Volunteer with High School Students
Several of our projects with community partners pair undergraduate students with high school students interested in gaining racial justice experience. As a near-peer mentor, you'll hone your research skills with real-world experience by helping younger students study their own communities.
Please fill out our volunteer interest form to serve as a near-peer mentor.
Work at IRJ in a Paid Position
We have year-round opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to join IRJ as research associates and support staff. Our student associates help with research — everything from curriculum mapping to assisting with fieldwork — as well as event coordination and office administration.
