Dual Degree Programs
At IPS, we offer several dual-degree graduate programs, both within IPS and also partnering with other professional schools at Loyola.
The MDiv degree may be pursued in collaboration with other master's degrees offered within Loyola University Chicago's professional schools. In these programs, students pursue a curriculum composed of core courses common to both degrees, individual courses particular to each degree, and professional identity components. Students can complete the following programs in four years of full-time study:
The MDiv/MA in Pastoral Counseling
This dual-degree program provides the student with a comprehensive background in ministerial leadership and specialist competencies in faith-based counseling.

This dual-degree program provides the student with a comprehensive background in ministerial leadership and the competencies to become a licensed social worker.

This dual-degree program provides the student with a comprehensive background in ministerial leadership and specialist competencies in the field of social justice.
In addition to its partnership with the MDiv degree, the MA in Social Justice can also be pursued in collaboration with the Master of Social Work degree program.

The MA in Social Justice/Master of Social Work
This dual-degree program recognizes that social work and social justice work often inform one another and overlap in terms of content and philosophy. Students who pursue this dual-degree will have the benefit of developing sound technical social work skills alongside strong historical, philosophical, theological and practical social justice knowledge and practical approaches.
