Congratulations to the winners of the 2019 Stanley Clayes Memorial Essay Competition!
First place in this year's Stanley Clayes Memorial Essay Competition went to Anthony Shoplik for his essay “Sophistication, Etiquette, and Jazz Journalism in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” written for ENGL 420: Topics in Critical Theory with Dr. Kerkering
Joseph Wapinski was awarded Honorable Mention for his essay “Is the Pervert Redeemable?: The APA’s Canon of Perversions and the Politics of 21st Century Info Power,” also written for ENGL 420.
Both students will be honored at a presentation and reception to be held this Wednesday, November 6, at 3:30 p.m. in McCormick Lounge, Coffey Hall. Congratulations to both on their achievement!
