Teaching Philosophy:
Much like any other skill, writing must be practiced in order to improve it; nobody is born a great writer. The same passion that drives my research in social justice also informs my teaching philosophy where I am invested in deconstructing traditional barriers of instructor/student modes of relating, allowing me to produce transformative learning experiences through multiple pedagogical techniques. In addition, I believe education is also about personal growth and learning. For this reason, I create small learning-centered communities as a micro base to monitor the retrieval and application of classroom topics. Within these communities, I ask students to use their time and skills to extract a more cohesive view of the material with which we are working.
