STARS Interns

The STARS Intern plays an essential role in creating a mentorship experience that connects program participants to resources, support, and community that aids in their success at Loyola. Working closely with the Assistant Director for Leadership and Advocacy, the STARS Intern’s primary role is providing guidance, support, and supervision to the STARS peer mentors. In addition, their leadership asks of them to facilitate weekly meetings, serve as the lead in executing STARS events and programs, and provide critical feedback that supports the mission and values of the STARS program. Two interns are hired for each academic year.

STARS Peer Mentors

STARS Peer Mentors serve to support, encourage and assist first-year mentees in successfully navigating and transitioning into the academic, extracurricular, social, cultural dimensions of campus life at Loyola. Through one-on-one and group meetings, staff and faculty mentors are knowledgeable guides, thoughtful facilitators who provide access to people and resources, role models, and success advocates. In addition, peer mentors play a critical role in supporting the program planning, development and execution of numerous STARS signature gatherings and events throughout the academic year. 16 mentors are hired for each academic year.
