Programs and Initiatives
Through facilitating intentional reflection of the intersections of identities and critical social analysis of systems of privilege and oppression, CDI seeks to enhance the experience of all members of the Loyola community by cultivating culturally competent agents of social change. This goal is accomplished through various programs and initiatives. Click on the links below to learn more about our programs and initiatives. Open to all Ramblers!
Programs We Offer
Mentorship Programs
Mentorship is a transformative practice that has the ability to impact the experiences of all involved. CDI offers three mentorship experiences, Loyola University Chicago Empowering Sisterhood (LUCES), Queer Undergraduates of Empowerment, Support, and Triumph (QUEST), and Students Together Are Reaching Success (STARS).
Leadership and Development
The Center for Diversity and Inclusion office offers a unique leadership development experience for students. Rooted in the foundation of Jesuit values and the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm, we prepare students to lead from an ethical compass, working towards the common good and a collective vision and imagination of a better world.
LGBTQIA Initiatives
The spaces and programs we create and sustain are developed to validate and affirm all orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, lack thereof, or combination of any of those social identities.
Undocumented Student Program
USP is a campus wide initiative designed to foster Rambler community, build awareness on issues related to undocumented student experiences at Loyola, bolster on-campus support for and the inclusion of undocumented students.
Scholar Transition and Enrichment Program (STEP)
STEP is a cohort-based transition program that centers equity-assets based approaches to skill development and seeks to amplify the skills and lived experiences participants already possess.
Social Justice Education and Practice Program
CDI is committed to elevating the critical consciousness of the student body. To that end we offer a series of workshops, trainings, and opportunities to learn, unlearn, and grow.
