Profiles

I am a PhD candidate in pure mathematics at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  Briefly, my research concerns objects called singular symplectic varieties, and my thesis asks to what extent do algebraic invariants on these objects determine their geometry.  These questions lie at the heart of Hodge Theory and Complex Algebraic Geometry.

 

Before teaching at Loyola and studying at UIC, I grew up in the Pacific Northwest in the small town of Port Orchard, WA outside of Seattle.  I received my B.S. from the University of Washington and started my PhD journey at the University of Georgia in Athens.  Each institute has taught me the importance of higher education and community building, and I am excited to develop a report with both undergraduates and faculty alike.
