Joyce D Knight, D.Min.

About

Joyce D. Knight grew up in Cape Girardeau, MO., where she attended catholic school through high school. She attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where she earned a degree in Anatomy & Physiology. She graduated with a Masters in Divinity and later a Doctorate in Ministry in pastoral counseling from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. She is currently completing a certification internship in Spiritual Direction at Loyola University Chicago.

Before coming to Loyola in 1981, Joyce worked in several areas of students affairs/higher education, including, registration & records, finances and human resources. She has held several roles within the CAS Dean’s Office, including Senior Evaluator, Academic Advisor, Assistant Dean, and currently Associate Dean.

As Associate Dean, Dr. Knight oversees the CAS Academic Advising Team, and works closely with faculty, and leadership. Joyce has a great love for working with students, and always appreciates input on how we can expand or improve our services, especially from our students.

Joyce is committed to the Loyola Community and the local community and is a member of various University committees, and community groups. She has served on Staff council, University senate and several others. She taught English Language Learners for 10 years for a non-profit sector of ONE (the Organization of the North East), where she served as their VP and chair of their immigration committee.
