I did my undergraduate research at DePaul University with a focus on marine animal immunology and environmental conservation. I then switched gears to do my Master's degree here at Loyola University Chicago in infectious disease research that affects marginalized populations disproportionately, with a focus on HIV-1 therapeutics. Finally, I switched gears yet again for my dissertation work, focusing on reproductive health biology and the human microbiome, still at Loyola University Chicago. This steadfast refusal to stick to just one area of research has led me here, to an instructor position in the Biology Department.
