Dr. Lodolce has taught a diverse number of courses in our curriculum, including Cell Biology (BIOL 251), Genetics (BIOL 282), General Virology (BIOL 318), Molecular Pathogenesis (BIOL 377), Molecular Genetics (BIOL 382), and Molecular Biology Lab (BIOL 390).  His strength in teaching is reflected in his many teaching honors, including the Edwin T. and Vivijeanne F. Sujack Award for Teaching Excellence in 2020.  Dr. Lodolce has served as an advisor on the Pre-Health Professions Advisory Committee (PHPAC) for many years.  He was also instrumental in the design, implementation, and administration of an online application portal used by Biology majors to apply for undergraduate research positions in the labs of tenure-track faculty in the department.  Despite not having an active research program, Dr. Lodolce has co-authored several scientific manuscripts with colleagues in the areas of genetics, molecular biology, and cellular biology (including a recent review article on the SARS pandemic).  Most notably, he co-authored the textbook Becker’s World of the Cell (10th Edition) with Dr. Jeff Hardin from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He has served as the Undergraduate Program Director for the Biology Department since July 2022.
