Program Coordinator, Baumhart Center
Luna Luna is an undocumented leader focused on merging the unique challenges and strengths of the undocumented entrepreneurial experience with the principles of profit and purpose. Growing up in a low-income household in Chicago’s South Side, he developed a strong drive to create equitable opportunities for all. Pursuing a Baumhart MBA, Luna aims to leverage the business acumen and leadership skills to build a more just and equitable Chicago region for everyone, regardless of background.
Currently, Luna serves as the Program Coordinator at the Baumhart Center for Social Enterprise and Responsibility, where he supports in planning and executing Center’s programs e.g., Leading for DEI, Responsible Business Leaders, etc. His work focuses on improving operations, processes, and leading events that advance social impact. Before joining the Baumhart Center, Luna was an Analyst at Civic Consulting Alliance, providing pro bono consulting to public and social sectors in the Chicago region. His projects included collaborations with the State's Attorney’s Office, Chicago Community Trust, City of Chicago, and the Illinois Health & Hospital Association to promote racial equity and equitable business practices.
Luna has also been involved with nonprofits in Chicago and Washington D.C., offering direct services and advocacy in areas around housing, employment, immigration, and tax services. His experience includes roles on the Policy and Advocacy team at United We Dream, the Community Initiatives team at La Casa Norte, and the Legal Services Department of The Resurrection Project.
Luna holds an Associate degree in Social and Behavioral Science from Arrupe College of Loyola University Chicago and a Bachelor degree in Government from Georgetown University. In his spare time, he enjoys morning walks, coffee runs, and staying involved in immigrant rights organizations.
