Benn Perrone
Operations Manager, AHI Travel
Benn is currently an Operations Manager at AHI Travel, a Chicago-based travel company that organizes educational luxury trips for the nation’s largest Alumni associations and affiliate groups. In her role, Benn is responsible for the meticulous coordination of logistics, excursions, and passenger requests related to the day-to-day operations of international tours, with a particular focus in Asia and Europe. Her keen attention to detail and proactive approach ensure that every aspect of the passenger’s experience is handled with precision and care. A pivotal part of Benn’s role involves effective communication with a diverse network of hotels, tour operators, guides, and educators around the world. Her ability to forge genuine relationships within and outside the company and her adept problem-solving skills are key to her success in managing complex logistical challenges.
Before finding her home in the travel industry, Benn was a pre-med psychology major at Loyola University Chicago. In the summer of her junior year, she volunteered at a hospital in Liberec, Czech Republic and backpacked around Europe solo afterwards. That’s when the travel bug bit her. She is passionate about supporting local businesses and suppliers, as well as finding sustainable ways to lessen the impact of overtourism.
Outside of work, Benn loves traveling and trying out new cuisines with her husband, reading nonfiction books, watching historical documentaries, and going for runs by the lake. She was born and raised in Manila, Philippines before moving to Chicago in 2011.
