Application
The ACE program invites applications for the new first-year cohort on or shortly after the deposit deadline set by the university's admissions department - typically May 1 or shortly after. Once that date passes, an email invite will go out to new first-year students who potentially qualify to apply. Students will typically be given a priority deadline allowing them approximately a two week window to complete the application. Once the priority deadline passes, the fulltime staff will review each application and accept a cohort of students who will be notified via email that their application has been accepted. A decline letter will be sent to students who we are unable to assist.
During recruitment windows of time, we encourage applications from students who meet at least one of the following requirements: 1.) are a first-generation college student 2.) have a documented disability 3.) have high financial need. Search keywords "TRIO low income levels" to be directed to the U.S. Department of Education website for specifics on what is defined as high financial need. Per government regulations, students must meet at least one of the three aformentioned requirements to be considered for acceptance into the program.
The grant that funds the ACE program places a limit on how many students we can serve at one time. If our program is full when you express interest in applying, we may not be able to immediately grant you admission into the program. If this is the case, we will notify you via email, provide you a comprehensive list of other resources on campus that may assist you, and you will be encouraged to re-apply at another time. Students can be accepted into ACE as late as the first semester of their junior year. If you are interested in ACE or have any questions about the application process, please e-mail us at ace@luc.edu.
