Markeda Newell serves as the lead administrator on faculty matters including creating new policies and procedures to support faculty, with an eye towards equity, inclusion and access; overseeing promotion, tenure and review processes; new faculty orientation, mentoring, and faculty development programs; initiatives to recruit and retain underrepresented faculty; and sabbaticals and faculty awards. The Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs works with academic leaders across campus under the One Loyola model to enhance LUC’s efforts to support faculty from recruitment to retirement.
