Loyola Students Win Nationally Competitive Awards for Study Abroad

Congratulations to the following students:

Taryn '19, a Computer Science and Cybersecurity double major, has won a Boren Scholarship to study Russian in Latvia in spring 2018. Taryn is active in ROTC and is also in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Vanessa Huerta '19, an International Business and Political Science double major, ROTC cadet, first-generation student and STARS program mentor, has also won a Boren Scholarship to study Russian, in Kyrgyzstan in fall 2017 -- and also won a Critical Languages Scholarship for the summer 2017, to study Russian.

Addison McTague '18, a double major in Religious Studies and English and a Ricci Scholar, won a Critical Languages Scholarship for the summer 2017 to study Arabic in Oman.

Are you interested in applying for the Boren Scholarship or the Critical Language Scholarship? Connect with the Fellowship Office to start working on your application for the next cycle. Additionally, the Fellowship Office is accepting applications for Fellowship Incentive Grants (FIGs) until May 19. Up to eight $1000 grants are to be awarded annually to prospective applicants of major fellowships and scholarships, including the Fulbright Award, Goldwater Scholarship, Marshall Scholarship, National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, Boren Scholarship, Rhodes Scholarship, Truman Scholarship, and Udall Scholarship.
